Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University in Gazipur Sadar, Gazipur

Bangbandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University was established in 1998 as a public university with an act (Act no. 16) promulgated by the Parliament, Government of Bangladesh.

The university was, in fact, established by transforming the Institute of Post Graduate Studies in Agriculture (IPSA). IPSA was originally established as Bangladesh College of Agricultural Science (BCAS) in ...1983 as an academic organ of Bangladesh Agricultural Research Institute (BARI) and academically affiliated with Bangladesh Agricultural University until 1991. In 1991, IPSA was made an autonomous institution. Henceforth, IPSA started its true course credit-based M.S. and Ph.D. programs. The graduate program of IPSA was developed a team of IPSA teachers led by Prof. L. M. Eisgruver of the Oregon State University (OSU), USA under the tripartite cooperation of JAICA-USAID-GOB.

Welcome to Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman Agricultural University, Gazipur. Being an Agricultural Institution, our main objective is to produce high quality Agricultural Scientists. Therefore, we are committed with the philosophy that we advance our farmer community by sharing positive and proven ideas and experiences. Along with Bachelor of Science (BS) in Agriculture, Fisheries, Agricultural Economics & Rural Development and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, The university offers Master of Science (MS) and Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in 17 (Seventeen) subject/discipline under the Faculty of Agriculture, 03 (three) subject/discipline under the Faculty of Agricultural Economics and Rural Development in addition to Master of Science in Fisheries in 03 (three) subject/discipline under the Faculty of Fisheries and 04 (four) subject/discipline under the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science. All the graduate programs (MS and PhD) are managed by the Dean, Faculty of Graduate Studies.
