Shamsul Hoque Khan School & College in Demra, Dhaka
Demra's Shamsul Hoque Khan School and College was established in 1989 through the initiative of a socially responsible and educational enthusiast, Alhaj Shamsul Hoque Khan. Initially named Shamsul Hoque Khan Junior High School, it commenced with a limited number of students and teachers. In 1993, the institution received government approval and transitioned into a full-fledged high school. Renamed as Shamsul Hoque Khan High School, it became MPB-registered in 1995, achieving remarkable success in the SSC examinations.
In 2003, the college branch for girls was established, leading to the institution's rebranding as Shamsul Hoque Khan School and College. The English version of the school was introduced in 2014.
The institution, a pioneer in co-education and academic entertainment, hosts various clubs and scout groups. It's a hub for mental development, attributed to clubs such as the English Language Club, Science Club, Art and Cultural Club, Debate Club, and National and International Affairs Club.
The Principal of the institution, M. Mahbubur Rahman Molla, has been leading the institution since its inception. His visionary leadership has expanded and developed the institution rapidly. Additionally, M. Mahbubur Rahman Molla is the founder and chairman of Dr. Mahbubur Rahman Molla College, associated with the honorable Prime Minister's Education Assistance Trust Board and the Ambassador of the HWPL, a global peace platform in North Korea.
The educational process of the institution is divided into four segments: Bangla Medium Day and Morning Shift, English Version, and College Branch. Currently, Alhaj Shamsuddin Bhuiyan Sentu serves as the Chairman of the governing body. Among those who have contributed significantly to the institution's establishment, Tajul Islam Miazi, Samiul Ahsan, and the late Anwar Hossain are particularly noteworthy.
Shamsoul Hoque Khan School and College secured the first and second positions in the SSC examinations conducted by the Dhaka Board in 2012 and 2015, respectively, marking a consistent streak of success in both the school and college levels.
