Ragib Ali, an industrialist, and his wife, Rabeya Khatun Chowdhury, founded Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College in 1995. Tarapur Tea Estate is home to the medical college. The college is in the Pathantula neighborhood of Bimanbandar Thana, Sylhet. There are three primary structures on the 8.22-acre campus: two ten-story teaching buildings and the adjacent six-story, 925-bed Jalalabad Ragib-Rabeya Medical College Hospital
SUST provides a five-year program of study accredited by the Bangladesh Medical and Dental Council (BMDC) that leads to a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS) degree. After completing the final professional test, a one-year internship is required. The internship is required in order to receive BMDC registration to practice medicine.

It is the first private medical hospital in sylhet. Which has more than 1000 beds for patients. Every year Bangladeshi and foreign student admitted here with a dream to become a doctor.
