JF (Bangladesh) Limited, formerly James Finlay PLC, started its business in this part of the world back in 1896. The Company has been popularly known as ‘Finlay’ since its inception. The Company was established in 1896 by a Scottish trading company, with tea plantation and tea trading being the main business.
Currently, Finlay is operating as one of the major contributors of total tea production in Bangladesh. Gradually it ventured into other sectors like Shipping, Liner Agency, P&I Clubs Correspondent, Lloyd’s Agency, Crew Manning, Travel Agency, Warehousing, Freehold Properties, etc. More specifically JF (Bangladesh) Limited is the local correspondent of all P&I Clubs of the world, the Lloyd’s Agency since 1933, the Cargo Superintendent of WFP from 1974, Liner Agency Representation of Swire Shipping Limited, Non-Vessel Operating Common Carrier of UWL and Owners Protecting Agent (OPA) of renowned shipowners based mainly in Europe and Asia.
