Jatra Biroti
Jatra Biroti in Banani, Dhaka
Jatra Biroti is a multi-purpose event space/art lounge and vegetarian restaurant. A colorful oasis in the busy city. Beautiful food, music and art.
Anusheh Anadil, a musician and artist, founded Jatra Biroti in 2000 to promote Bangladeshi ethnic arts and crafts, which continue to inspire her. The Jatra family grew and many creative individuals contributed to its tale. We are happy to be part of a journey that has influenced a generation to respect their heritage. Jatra means 'travel' in Bengali. Our art, fashion, and lifestyle products reflect Bangladesh's colorful culture and people. Jatra has designed, promoted, and popularized Bangladeshi hand-woven apparel and crafts since 2000. Many artists and craftspeople have shown their work today through Jatra! We use environmentally friendly items that assist local communities. We also showcase other Bangladeshi innovative brands. Visit our showroom or buy our goods online to support our great designers, artists, and craftsmen. Why handmade? Because only handmade connects us to real craftspeople and their efforts in a fast-paced machine-driven world. By buying handmade, we support their craft. Jatra follows nature's rhythm. Defying nature causes unease. We prefer smaller enterprises working together than giant corporations monopolizing our resources.
