Sylhet Government College is an old and traditional educational institute of Sylhet district of Bangladesh . Located in Sylhet-Tamabil Highway in the district of Sylhet City, this college was established in 1964. college is currently taught in the higher secondary and undergraduate (pass) classes.

In front of the third block of the main academic building of the college there is a botanical garden with some rare trees which maintain the College's Botany Department.

Hostel 

Currently there are 2 hostels in this college. One for students and for the other students. The student hostel is made up of two floors and two blocks. On the other hand, the students' hostel is a 4-storied modern building. However, the student hostel for the students was burnt in the absence of student conflict and is currently in unused condition. ^[3]

Playground 

The college campus itself has its own playground. In addition to playing sports here, the college's annual sports competition was held.

The college campus itself has its own mosque. In addition to the students, the teachers of the college, officers, employees and people from nearby areas offer prayers.
